Our Services
Remote sensing is a valuable tool in mineral exploration as it allows detection of mineral deposits that may not be visible on the surface. It facilitates us in identifying geological structures, mineral alteration zones, and other features associated with mineral identification
We use satellite imaging for mines exploration, which measures the reflectance of light from the Earth’s surface at multiple wavelengths. Satellite data is used to identify minerals based on their spectral signature, which can be used to map mineral deposits
Other than remote sensing techniques, magnetic and gravity surveys are also carried out. In addition to remote sensing we also carry out field work such as sampling, geological mapping and core drilling to confirm the presence of mineral deposits
We offer expert solutions for lease acquisition across the country based on requisite understanding and data availability on the mineral potential of Pakistan
Lease acquisition for ferrous / non-ferrous metals and dimension stones typically involve compliance with relevant laws and initiatives to mitigate environmental and social impacts of the mining activities
Adhering to that, we undertake undermentioned general steps for a successful lease acquisition:
- Identify the prospective sites
- Negotiate with landowners and relevant departments
- Obtain necessary permits, licenses and modalities
Topographic Surveys. Our topographical survey services are specifically tailored for mineral exploration projects. We have sound expertise in demarcation of spatial ground features, digital elevation modeling (DEM) of all natural and manmade features as well as elevations. We calculate accurate digital topographic data which enables sound decision- making and increases the success rate of mineral exploration and mining (mine design and development) endeavors
Geological Surveys. Geological surveys play a critical role in the exploration phase. The steps for geological studies include the following:
- Surface sampling of the rocks
- Geological mapping to identify prospect locations for mineral deposits, mapping geological structures, rock types and mineralization
- Geochemical analysis to analyze the composition of rocks, soils, and sediments to identify the presence of economic minerals
- Petrographic analysis to interpret the composition of the rock, soil and sediments as well as the type of mineralization in the ore
Geophysical Investigations are used to identify the subsurface behavior of the rocks to detect and map the anomalous zone. Common geophysical methods used by MINES are:
- Magnetic Surveys
- Electrical Resistivity Surveys/ Induced Polarization
- Gravity Surveys
- Electromagnetic Surveys
Mineral Testing Laboratory has been established for the analysis of rock samples in order to determine their mineral quality and content through a range of analytical techniques, such as X-Ray Flouresence (XRF) and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). For this purpose, MINES laboratory has employed well trained professionals including mineralogists and geochemists who are responsible for conducting the tests and interpreting the results
Mine plan and design are a very important component in the exploration phase to execute the mining operations. Mine plan and design include scheduling, production, deployment of machineries and human resource
Mine planning involves both mine design and scheduling of mining activities. The goal of mine design is to create a mine that will allow exploitation of the reserve in a safe, economic and environmentally responsible manner. Mine scheduling on the other hand, is concerned with the sequencing of operations and the assignment of the equipment and people to ensure that the intended sequencing and production targets are realized
